This is the result of a study by Columbia University's National Center for Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) . 1,000 students, 1,000 parents and 500 teachers as well as 50 experts were surveyed online and 2,000 scientific articles on the subject were analyzed. According to this, 90 percent of addicts in the US start smoking, drinking or consuming hard drugs before they turn 18. A quarter of them will become dependent on the long term.
